The 25-year old has been hit by a motor vehicle in Delray Beach, Florida on Sunday morning and needed to have the bottom half of his right leg amputated. He is now listed in critical condition at Delray Medical Center according to Blackzillians teammate Rashad Evans.
Bellator published a statement indicating Delray Beach police are searching for info from anybody who might have witnessed the crash. “Bellator has been advised of a terrible accident that happened last night involving featherweight fighter Jordan Parsons, who had been hit by an automobile in a shout incident,” the statement read. “We are still in the process of uncovering details and with his family’s approval, expect to have an update on his medical condition shortly. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jordan and his family as he recovers. The hit-and-run occurred on Lindell Blvd. and South Federal Highway at Delray Beach, Florida. Anyone who has information regarding this incident is requested to call the Delray Beach Police Department at -LRB-561-RRB-??243-7800.” Parsons (12-2) was scheduled to fight Adam Piccolotti at Bellator 154 at San Jose on May 14. It’s likely Piccolotti won’t have a replacement opponent and the bout will probably be scrapped.
